King Cake Review and GIVEAWAY: Whole Foods Market

So when I approached Whole Foods about a King Cake Review, I didn't know what to expect - to be honest, I didn't even know they made king cakes until I researched a bit!

But WOW! Was I blown away by the flavors alone:

Cinnamon
Praline
Cream Cheese
Chocolate
Raspberry Cream Cheese
and CHANTILLY!

If you have had a Chantilly cake from Whole Foods before, you know why I put that one in caps...I mean take Chantilly Cake (berries and chantilly icing) and add King Cake - a whole new world opened up for me!

Let's talk PRICE - ALL flavors (stuffed or regular cinnamon) are VERY Reasonable priced at $12.99 for a whole king cake...OR you can buy it by the slice ($2.49 each) so you have the chance to try EACH FLAVOR!

Let's Talk TASTE - I got to try the Cinnamon and Chantilly flavors and BOTH were melt in your mouth amazing!  And they might just be a bit healthier for you - All Natural and Preservative Free - but that does not effect the taste at all!  The Cinnamon tasted like a homemade cinnamon roll!  The Chantilly - well I think you get my love for the Chantilly already - and nowhere else can you get this flavor!
Cinnamon flavor!
Berry Chantilly flavor!

As a side note, the king cake baby is also phthalate-free plastic (I wouldn't expect anything less from Whole Foods!)

And the next morning, I popped a slice (of each!) in the microwave for 30 seconds and it tasted just as FRESH as when I first got home!

Let's Talk LOCATION - Whole Foods King Cakes are sold in our local locations (Magazine Street in New Orleans - Veterans Blvd in Metairie - Corporate Blvd in Baton Rouge - and NEW to open soon - Broad Street in New Orleans)

Nationally- you can buy them at many Whole Foods locations! So let your friends know - and they can pick up locally and don't have to pay shipping!

Southwest: All stores in Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas
Rocky Mountain: All stores in Colorado, Kansas, Idaho, Utah and New Mexico
Southern Pacific: All stores in Nevada, Southern California, Arizona and Hawaii

The United Kingdom, Pacific Northwest and Northern California regions do not carry king cakes.

The king cakes at our local stores are sourced from the Houston Bakehouse.

If you haven't been to Whole Foods in awhile, I encourage you to stop in soon - and grab a king cake or two while you are there!  Whole Foods truly has created an EXPERIENCE for you while grocery shopping.  I went to the Veterans location during the Saints game on Saturday and the store was PACKED - there were people watching the game in the dining area - there was a cooking demonstration going on - the store was buzzing!  I encourage you to stop by the chair massage area near the exit doors as well - I told you, it is an experience!
