King Cake Review and GIVEAWAY: The PeaceBaker

When I was given the opportunity to review/taste a King Cake from The PeaceBaker, I received the following information from them:

Our king cake is yeast free, gluten free, soyfree, dairyfree, vegan and kosher!!
 

And I thought - What can that possibly taste like? I have worked many Organic food shows around the country myself and eaten many "cardboard cookies" over the years...but the Peace Baker offers a king cake that has such an AMAZING TASTE!  If I didn't tell you all those things above their king cake is free of - you would NEVER know - there is nothing missing in the taste!

The king cake is 10" round with a cinnamon sugar flavor.  It reminded me of a cinnamon pound cake...but was so MOIST and just melted in my mouth!  I love that the icing is drizzled in the purple, gold, and green with a hint of sparkles...this gives it such a unique look!  I also loved the "pool" of icing that swirled together in the middle (I may or may not have licked the box clean afterward!)

 

I do not have any food allergies myself (and am thankful my kids don't either) but I can only imagine how hard it is for those struggling with such allergies to watch everyone else enjoy the Mardi Gras season filled with King Cakes that would cause them a severe allergic reaction.  The PeaceBaker offers the perfect solution - and everyone can eat it and LOVE it, food allergies or not!
