Review of One Funny Mother - Comedy Show in NOLA (Oct 11-20)

Photo: Add To Your To Do List: Get Baby Sitter, See "One Funny Mother: I'm Not Crazy" Oct.11-20.

So I was given the opportunity to check out DENA BLIZZARD's comedy show entitled "One Funny Mother - I'm Not Crazy!" on Friday night and OMG! I swear her entire comedy bit was based on hidden camera footage in my living room!

Dena has a 1 woman act where she discusses the "joys" of motherhood - and marriage - and everything that happens behind the closed doors at home!

Any mom can relate to her hilarious stories - because we have done the same things...and if you haven't yet - trust me, you will!

Before the show, we got the chance to enter the "One Funny Mother Confessional" where I spilled my guts about my own personal mom experiences - and for my laughable moments that I probably will regret admitting in the future (LOL) - I received a magnet and a free glass of wine! Off to a great start!

The Joy Theater (Canal Street) has been newly renovated and very nice! The stage looked like my living room - a sofa piled with laundry and toys scattered all over!  Dena entered the stage and kept our attention with constant laughs! She is a past Ms. Jersey beauty queen - turned Mom of 3-  and through the chaos of kids and marriage she finds SO many things to share that we all thought were ROLL ON THE FLOOR FUNNY! I know I wasn't the only one who would burst out an "Oh my God!" during her stories -I swear she was talking about my life!

After the end of the show, I had the opportunity to meet Dena (with my friend Dena that I brought to the show) "Star" Dena was the most down to earth woman - she was a trip even off the stage! I think Jersey girls and NOLA girls are made the same:)

Note: The show does contain curse words so you need to be a mature adult and you also need to understand why Dena uses curse words at highly appropriate times in her storytelling - as we have all said them at the same times in our own Mom moments:)

One Funny Mother is in town thru October 20 - and you don't want to miss out!  You can purchase tickets/view showtimes HERE - Tickets are $40-50 based on seating.
(FYI I suggest Valet Parking for $15 - parking is scarce in the area AND when I walked out of the show, the super nice valet already had my car pulled out front for me!)
