Kids Culinary Camp is a FREE half-day summer camp that gets kids in
the kitchen to learn to cook in a way that’s hands-on and fun. Each day
there’s a new recipe and campers work together measuring, chopping, and
stirring to create a delicious and healthy lunch to enjoy with each
other.They’ll also be staying active and improving their nutritional
literacy through games and arts and crafts projects.
The camp is free for children in grades 2
nd through 5
th
and runs from 9 AM to 12 PM every weekday for five weeks. SoFAB’s new
home is still under renovation, so camp will once again take place at
First Grace United Methodist Church, located at
3401 Canal Street in Mid City. Camp
is run by the Southern Food and Beverage Museum with support from
Domino Foods, Inc. Children can attend ONE week of camp, and you can
indicate your preference in the registration documents. The five weeks
of camp in 2014 are:
- June 9-13
- June 16-20
- June 23-27
- July 7-11
- July 14-18
