"I am wearing heels...I am carrying a small purse! I just want to sit at a table without 3 little kids clawing at me" - That was my favorite quote from the Moms' Night Out Movie! It just seemed up to sum up my life as a Mom of 3 kids. Being a parent (Mom especially) is a joy and a struggle all at the same time. Every day. So that is why the movie Moms' Night Out intrigued me!
Quick summary of Moms' Night Out (without giving anything away - trust me!) - What better way to explain parenting than in a COMEDY - Parenting is such a mess sometimes, you have to laugh at it! In MNO, a group of Moms just want to get dressed up and go out together one night without the kids! That means the Dads must watch the kids, and the Moms can have dinner without nagging toddlers or teenagers, sit at the table and have adult conversation...BUT everything goes wrong - EVERYTHING! I too can relate to this because when I do get a night away from the kids, I have such high expectations for the night!
What I liked about this movie:
It was wholesome! With a PG rating, they were able to have a film that was clean - no cursing, no sexual content - and it still kept the audience entertained! Just proof that a movie doesn't need those things to be good! The film does have a few churchy scenes, but they still kept it real and not preachy!
"You Got Kids? Want Mine?"
I LAUGHED out loud in the theater as I could relate to so many of things that were said or happened to these Moms! I have been there, done that - but I wouldn't necessarily admit it (outloud anyway)!
Patricia Heaton (from Everybody's Love Raymond) produced the film (with her husband) and also stars in it - She is the preacher's wife with a certain "image" to uphold and raising a teenage daughter who is a bit rebellious - Trace Adkins is so out of his normal character, but it works well for him, yet he still shows his sweet side - and Sarah Drew is the perfect example of a worn out Mom who thinks hiding in her closet is a "getaway" - you know you have a hiding place too (mine is the bathroom!)

The best part in the preview is when she is talking to the receptionist at the restaurant and saying she just wants to have dinner with her friends without little people clawing all over her. Because that would be so me having a meltdown on someone after not being able to find my reservations on a much needed babyless girls night! Lol
