Giveaway: Mardi Gras King Cake from Whole Foods Market

It's Mardi Gras time in New Orleans - and that means
Parades, Music, and of course - KING CAKE!

As a child, my experiences with King cake was just what we refer to today as "Traditional" but now King Cake flavors have really stepped up a notch and Whole Foods Markets have taken on the challenge as well!

In browsing the King Cake section of the Bakery, I noticed there are FIVE flavor options this year:

Cinnamon (Traditional)
Pecan Praline
Cream Cheese
Raspberry Cream Cheese
and CHANTILLY!

If you have had a Chantilly cake from Whole Foods before, you know why I put that one in caps...I mean take Chantilly Cake (berries and chantilly icing) and add King Cake - a whole new world opened up for me! I am hosting a GIVEAWAY below for TWO lucky New Orleanians to receive a FREE King Cake of their chose - scroll down below to enter!

Giveaway #2 ends Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at midnight - ENTER TO WIN HERE!

UPDATE: Whole Foods/Metairie (Veterans Blvd) ONLY is now doing vegan king cakes with a 24-hour advance order required! See Bakery for more info!

Let's talk PRICE

ALL flavors (stuffed or regular cinnamon) are VERY Reasonable priced at $14.99 for a whole king cake

OR you can buy it by the slice ($2.79 each) so you have the chance to try a little bit of EACH FLAVOR!

Let's Talk TASTE

I got to try the Cinnamon, Pecan Praline and Chantilly flavors and they were all melt in your mouth amazing!  And they might just be a bit healthier for you - All Natural and Preservative Free - but that does not effect the taste at all!

The Cinnamon tasted like a homemade cinnamon roll!  The Chantilly - well I think you get my love for the Chantilly already - imagine rolling the berries and chantilly icing into one and then adding King cake = DIVINE!

Pecan Praline wasn't overly sweet - with a hint of praline taste and the tiny pecan bits added just enough for those who are a bit "nutty"

As a side note, the king cake baby is also phthalate-free plastic (I wouldn't expect anything less from Whole Foods!)

And the next morning, I popped a slice in the microwave for 20 seconds and it tasted just as FRESH as when I first got home!

Let's Talk LOCATION

Whole Foods King Cakes are sold in our local locations (Magazine Street in New Orleans - Veterans Blvd in Metairie - Corporate Blvd in Baton Rouge - and Broad Street in New Orleans)

Nationally- you can buy them at many Whole Foods locationsSo let your friends know - and they can pick up locally and don't have to pay shipping!
