So it is almost Valentine's Day and this year it falls on a Friday night - that means LONG wait times at just about any restaurant. So I decided it would be better just to stay home and have a nice meal at home - and thanks to Winn Dixie, they make it really easy!
Yes - that says $4.99 each! Enjoy a Surf and Turf Dinner for 2 - for under $20! Just light some candles to set a romantic tone or have the kids be your waiters! No reservations required!
I will admit I am not a great cook - my kids complain that I overcook box macaroni and cheese! But I was up for this challenge and found how easy it was to cook!
I simply steamed the Lobster tail in the oven with a little water for 15 minutes - then melted some butter in the microwave and VOILA! No seasoning, no crazy recipe! I will admit I have never shelled a lobster tail before, so mine wasn't as pretty as the picture:) But the lobster tasted AMAZING!
My Ribeye was in the shape of a heart! Too cute! As for cooking it, I left this one for my husband (see note above about mac-n-cheese!) He added some steak seasoning, salt and pepper, and broiled a very juicy, tender steak!
Here are the recipes for both (for those who need a little help like me!)
So for under $20 and no long wait times or reservations, Valentine's dinner can be a successful and romantic dinner for you too!
A few other Valentine's ideas I saw while shopping at Winn Dixie:
- You can add your own personal message to a 8" cookie cake (in store Feb 13th from 3pm-8pm and Feb 14 from 10am-7pm)
- And of course chocolate covered strawberries are a must! At only $7.99 pre-dipped in chocolate OR make your own fondue with B1G1 FREE strawberries - just add your own chocolate!
- a Dozen roses in a variety of colors - on sale for $19.99!
- Grab a gift card she will love! For every $50 gift card, you get 15 cents in fuelperks ($3 savings on your next fill up)
